Canada, sweet Canada.
Author: roberta
Being in Canada really made me feel like I was in Europe. Everything is so beautiful there, so clean and fresh. I loved everything about Canada, but the scenery takes the cake. I would say that it is perfect for couples, and I can’t wait to visit again with my future sweet heart! The old european architecture is really some astonishing work, there are lot’s of cute boutiques and cafes! We walked to Place Jacques Cartier for street entertainers on the weekend, and there are many restaurants in the area. The food there is awesome and I have never seen so many ice cream shops! It was yummy
People always ask me what my experience with the people there was like, and I have to say that it was so-so. They are a little snobbish but not so bad, most people there are relatively friendly.
The highlight of my trip? Walking through the streets of Old Montreal. Here you can visit the Notre Dame, and also go for a horse drawn carriage ride. The streets are lined with cobblestone which give you the feeling of being in an old city. Montreal is also one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. I would have to say that I REALLY enjoyed Canada, just like being in Europe. And just as expensive, but worth every bit of it.

Welcome to MiAmI!

“Party in the city where the heat is on
All night, on the beach till the break of dawn
Welcome to Miami
Buenvenidos a Miami…”
The party never sleeps in Miami. From the crazy people walking on the streets to the boardwalks of Southbeach, everything about Miami is so exciting. So many different restaurants and attractions, there wasn’t enough time for half of them! My parents are I stayed there for a week, and it was GREAT! Funnest part was jet skiing, it is a must do when you visit there! Also, swimming with the dolphins left me speechless. Whether your with family or friends, no matter who you go with, you are gauranteed a wonderful time! I love Miami!!! And anyone who doesn’t must be completely nuts.
My family and I purchased our tickets from www.airfarenow.com. They have to best rates, so for all you that travel a lot, I would check them out if your looking for a good price. I will be traveling again shortly, to Cancun actually! I can’t wait!!!

No problem mon, we’re in Jamaica.

This trip is by far the best vacation I have ever been on. Everything was perfect, including the people, the beaches, the music, and THE FOOD! Never thought I would favor Jamaican food over anything else, the meat patties and jerk chicken ROCK! We stayed at the Ibera Star Resort (which was all-inclusive, which means gaining 10 lbs.), and it was beautiful.
We went ziplining through the rain forrest and drove to Nigril to watch some live reggae music! Bob Marley is their God in Jamaica, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Since there was such a big group of us going, we got some GREAT deals on group packages. Out of all the places that I have visited, Jamaica was the most enjoyable and it is a trip that I will never forget. I can’t wait to go back!!!

Sunny San Diego!

Since most of my family lives in either Finland or San Diego, I’m always buying airline tickets to those destinations. In the previous blog, I wrote about Travelpapa for international fares, well I found a site that has GREAT domestic fares…. www.ifares.com. It was fast, easy, and best of all, CHEAP! I actually have money left over to spend on souveniers! Yay! Hope it helps out with the rest of you travel junkies!
San Diego is the place to be! I lived there for many years and I still go back and find new things to do, new sights to see, and always end up meeting new people. Disneyworld, Universal Studios, & Sea World are MUST SEES!
I’m leaving to Jamaica with my best friend on Monday! I got a GREAT price on a hotel/cruise via Travelpapa. I love them! I’ll be posting blogs and pictures of the wonderful beaches I’ll be sippin on my Pina Coladas!

*Freezing in Finland*

For anyone who has not been to Finland, is surely missing out. It doesn’t matter how stressed you are, Finland’s serene country-side scenery is sure to bring out the peace in everyone.
I just recently visited my family in Finland, spent about three two months there. Winter time in Finland is absolutely breath-taking, but COLD! To top it off, we got tons of snow again this Winter, so we really got a white Christmas! For a couple weeks, we actually didn’t have any snow, only ice, so the thousands of lakes in Finland were thick ice, making it easy and really fun to ice skate and ice fish!
I stayed in a small town in the country-side called Varkaus. It’s a small town and not a lot to do in it but it is the most comforting and strikingly fanstastic places I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. For anyone who loves to travel and appreciates the beauty of mother nature’s art work, I highly reccommend traveling to land of The Finns!
Being a regular traveler, I know how hard it is to find those cheap tickets to your destination. I want to spread the word about WWW.TRAVELPAPA.COM. They specialize in international rates, and they always have the cheapest available. I usually never advertise for travel companies, but because of their AWESOME customer service, they were able to help me out with all my troubles that were surrounded in finding myself an afforable ticket to visit my family for the holidays. Their agents work almost around the clock and always went a little out of their way to satisfy my needs. So yeah, if you’re a traveler and don’t want to be ripped off price-wise, Travelpapa is the way to go.

Great Travel Deals on TravelPapa.com

Rencently, I was looking for a cheap ticket to Europe for myself and my family. Everything that I found online was overpriced and each site displayed the same thing. Then a friend of mine told me about this great site, travelpapa.com that has really cheap fares from New York to Moscow and the last minute departure specials are UNBELIEVEABLE! The prices are cheaper than anything that I could find online. When I called at 11pm EST to confirm my ticket there was someone locally in Atlanta, GA to help me over the phone! TravelPapa, you are a GREAT site and I will refer all of my friends there!
California Dreamin

I had the opportunity to spend a long weekend in California over labor day. My fiance had to go for business and I tagged along, being a travel agent has some perks, I managed to get a great practically free airline ticket and we were even on the same flight.
OK what on earth is going on with the security in our airports??? The line to get through the security check point in Atlanta at 7am on a Friday morning was so incredibly long it took almost an hour and a half, REALLY?? Why do we have to remove our flip flops? My $9.00 Kmart flip flops had to be X-rayed, how ridiculous. I must say that out of all the airports that I have travelled through , the Atlanta airport is by far the worst for lines.
I don’t believe that it is because it is soooo busy, Chicago O’Hare and London Heathrow are all generally in a 3 way tie for that title and I have been to all three recently, Atlanta sucks.
Anyway, I digress, we flew into Ontario Airport, which was quite lovely, as we were going up the escalator we were greeted by Nascar signs…..needless to say Bruce, my fiance had sudden revelation that we must go see the race-Fantastic news. I will tell you about this a little later…..
We stayed in Irvine, lovely place I spent time by the pool, did I mention that it was the hottest weekend EVER in Irvine with tempratures of over 105 , the poor Californians were not used to this heat and they were all in a state of shock.
We did the touristy thing, went to see Beverly Hills , Belair, Rodeo Drive, the Chinese theater etc… It’s a good thing to do once, just to have a point of reference when you are reading the tabloids.
Driving down the coast was my favorite part, it is really interesting to see all the little beach towns and how each one is so different. Hermosa beach was our favorite for the laid back hippy atmosphere and then Laguna beach for its high life style rich houses and the expensive cars….must be nice eh?
Sunday was race day, 107 degrees in Fontana, the middle of nowhere, the track is in a valley surrounded by what looks like a bunch of trucking centers and factories. As we stepped out of our car the ground was so hot it literally scorched my legs, they had ambulances at the ready because people were passing out, I almost passed out myself, luckily we got there at 5 and the race started and the sun started to go down and it became a little more tolerable, or maybe the beer was making me hallucinate.
I got to see a car burst into flames which was pretty cool, for a race novice like me, the fun parts of the race experience don’t really include the rac. The fly over and the crashes and the skydivers, not to mention the people watching, which is first rate at any race.
Well that was my little weekend, nothing spectacular but fun non the less.
Cruising To the Carribean

I recently took my first Carnival Cruise to Cozumel and Grand Caymen. We left on June 4th for a 5 night trip, with 14 of our closest friends.
What a blast we had, a non stop party from the moment we arrived, until the moment we left. The ship itself was not the most glamorous or the largest in the fleet, but it was certainly a huge step up from the last cruise I went on which was the Big Red Boat.
We had an inside cabin and the room was very spacious, I was suprised at the amount of room we actually had.
The food on board was abundant and very very good. I had read on some sites that the food was not as good on Carnival ships, but I had nothing to complain about.
A very fun experience all around, and even though I ate about 10 meals a day I didn’t gain any weight - hurray for me!
I will most definitely cruise again and try some other destinations.
Italy - the essence of art!

Once you arrive in Italy, the center of the arts, the Mother and Father of Renaissanse, where do you start?! You know of the magnificent wonders that this country holds, so where to go first? Those decisions are rather hard, especially if you have, oh, about two weeks to enjoy your status of a guest.
I started my journey in Rome. I would strongly suggest to find a place to stay that is near the metro, or you’ll have to walk great distances. We found a family that was renting their apartment right next to the Vatican and Sistene Chapel, another huge milestone to cross!
While in Rome do as the Romans do, have a fresh baked pizza and a glass of wine before embarking on any long exhibitions.. There are also services that allow you to take a bus to Pompei, i highly recomend taking it.
If you have some time take a train to Florence, Bella Firenze as they call it, or the Beautiful Florence. There you’ll find the famous Ufizi Gallery and the Santa Maria Bassilica. And you will fall in love with this city, i promise!
Cyprus

If paradise is what you’re looking for, Cyprus, the island of Aphrodite, is a perfect get away. I first visited in 1996, since then, i make it a point to go back at least once a year. Besides the natural beauty and the history content of the island, Cyprus works as a healer. It’s air is ionized, so after a week or so of living there, eating the freshest natural foods and swimming in Mediterenean sea, your mind and body is utterly stress free, replenished and strong.
